3D MATRIX COATING

DESCRIPTION

A revolutionary high performance nano ceramic coating that utilizes Polysilazane to produce three-dimensional (3D) matrix nano structure. It offers extreme clarity, amazing reflections and gloss on the paint.

 

Based on a patented Polysilazane technology, this 9H permanent barrier offers excellent resistance against stains, scratches, chemicals and temperature. It provides strong water-repellent properties that protect the paint surface from oxidation, discoloration, dirt, acid rain, salts and UV rays.​

APPLICATION

3D Matrix Coating is particularly suitable for car painted surfaces, such as one (1K) or two component (2K) paints (polyurethane or epoxy systems). The preferred use is for the exterior paint of cars, motorbikes, trucks, and buses

TOOLS

Depending on the substrate 3D Matrix Coating can be applied with microfiber applicators. The product is also suitable for spray application.

 

Spray application:

Process: HVLP-compressed air

Spray gun: e.g. SATA minijet HVLP

Working pressure: ca. 2 – 3 bar

Nozzles: 0.8 – 1.3 mm

 

The spray gun can be cleaned with n-butyl acetate, for example.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The product is for professional use and should be applied by approved applicators only. Test on a small area or apply a test coat before application.

APPLICATION OF V1 3D MATRIX COATING (BASE)

 

Shake well before use.

 

Get ready with 3 pieces of brand new, lint-free microfiber towel. (It is recommended that new towels to be rinsed or washed with water prior to use to reduce the loosing lint)

 

When first applying V1 3D Matrix Coating (Base) on substrate, it is recommended to condition the surface of the applicator block with 7-8 drops to prevent skipping or dry spots.

 

It is recommended to do a 2 ft. x 4 ft. area or 4 ft. x 4 ft. at a time.

 

Apply V1 3D Matrix Coating (Base) using normal pressure on applicator. Make sure the area is well covered. Always start from an edge to avoid excess on other panels. Work in controlled areas to remember where you previously applied. Work in horizontal or vertical movements repeatedly to ensure that product is penetrated through clear coat.

 

Wait for 5-10minutes (time is vary from different countries and different season depending on temperature or humidity, ask distributors for recommendation), use first towel to level the product.

 

Go immediately over with second microfiber towel with polishing motion until the surface is free from residue.

 

Follow by the third towel (this is called the “insurance towel”) and go over the surface one extra time just to make sure you haven’t miss any streaks or excess residue.

 

When the whole car is applied, allow curing of coating to begin. Wait approximately 30-60 minutes before applying a second layer. Curing times depend on temperature and humidity. Applying the product too early will dissolve the previous layer.


APPLICATION OF V1 3D MATRIX  (TOP)

Shake well before use.

 

Get ready with 3 pieces of brand new, lint-free microfiber towel.

 

When first applying V1 3D Matrix Coating (Top) on substrate, it is recommended to condition the surface of the applicator block with 7-8 drops to prevent skipping or dry spots.

 

Do not work on large area at a time. It is recommended to do a 1.5 ft. x 1.5 ft. at a time.

 

Apply V1 3D Matrix Coating (Top) using normal pressure on applicator. Make sure the area is well covered. Always start from an edge to avoid excess on other panels. Work in controlled areas to remember where you previously applied. Work in horizontal or vertical movements to ensure that product is carried through consistently.

 

Use first towel to immediately level the product.

 

Go immediately over with second microfiber towel with polishing motion until the surface is free from residue.

 

Follow by the third towel (the “insurance towel”) and go over the surface one extra time just to make sure you haven’t miss any streaks or excess residue.

 

When the whole car is applied, allow curing of coating to begin. Wait approximately 60 minutes before delivery of car to customers. Curing times depend on temperature and humidity.

INFRA-RED CURING


Heating polysilazanes results in crosslinking to form higher molecular weight polymers. Curing can be accelerated by using IR Lamps after V1 3D Matrix Coating Top is applied. Recommended settings for IR lamps are as following:
i. Minimum 80cm of distance above the surface.
ii. Maximum 70⁰C of surface temperature.
iii. Maximum 30 minutes on each panel.

PROCESSING & CURING

Product must be applied at an ambient temperature of at least + 5°C and a relative humidity of 30 % - 80 %. Avoid direct sunlight! Apply the coating in dry conditions. Any mistakes can be rectified within approx. 10 min of application. Traces of water in the applicator should also be avoided. Applicators dampened with water should not be used. The applicators cannot be reused once the coating has been applied. 3D Matrix Coating is dry-to-touch after about one hour.

 

The recommended curing conditions (until water resistant) are:

- Room temperature: 8 – 12 hours

- 80 °C (Infra-red curing): 2 hours

Curing can be accelerated by using IR Lamps after V1 Top is applied. Heating Polysilazanes results in crosslinking to form higher molecular weight polymers. Recommended settings for IR lamps are as following:

i. Minimum 80cm of distance above the surface.

ii. Maximum 80⁰C of surface temperature.

iii. Maximum 30 minutes on each panel.

 

The 3D Matrix coating is fully effective after 5 – 7 days’ curing at room temperature. During this time, the vehicles should not be driven into a vehicle wash.
